About the Event
We will meet in the eastern Thoroughfare Rd parking lot and take an easy, 15-minute walk out to a recently built deer exclosure (yep! it keeps deer out). This exclosure is protecting an endangered ecosystem that is unique to our area: an Upland Depression Swamp. There are a LOT of invasive plants in the exclosure that pose a serious threat to the native plants. So we are going to work to remove as many of them as possible on Saturday.
Most of the plants can be easily removed by hand, so no tools required! We will have some gloves for volunteers, but you are encouraged to bring your own. Standard gardening gloves will be perfect for this project.
