About the Event
It’s a paw-ty! Join us at the first-ever Paws at the Preserve at Leopold's Preserve on Saturday, May 2nd, 2026, from 1 PM - 3 PM. In celebration of Leopold’s Preserve’s four-legged visitors, we’d like to invite you and your pup to an afternoon featuring a canine costume contest and dog-themed booths!
Booths will be set up along the 0.65-mile Wood Duck Way trail. Take your pup on a nice stroll while you get a chance to stop and learn about resources for pet owners and connect with local businesses and organizations.
This family-friendly program is intended to provide a fun outing for both our visitors and their canine companions. For everyone’s safety and enjoyment, please keep the following in mind:
All dogs are to remain leashed during this event, per Leopold’s Preserve policy and Prince William County Law.
We ask that our visitors only bring socialized, dog-friendly, and non-reactive dogs to Paws at the Preserve.
Pet waste bags will be available at the start of the trail. There will be trash cans set up along the 0.65 mile loop to dispose of any pet waste.
Costume Contest: We’re excited to be hosting a canine costume contest during Paws at the Preserve! Upon arrival at the event, our staff will snap a shot of your pooch’s costume. Then, the following week, we’ll let our social media followers determine the winning pup!
To enter your pet in the costume contest, please fill out this short registration form by Wednesday, April 29th: Paws at the Preserve: Canine Costume Contest Registration
